DIRECTOR STAN ROSS NAMED TO USA U19 COACHING STAFF
Team 91 Florida Director and coach, Stan Ross has been named to the USA U19 Coaching Staff.

It would be an understatement to say that Stan Ross knows a thing or two about coaching.
Ross has coached at every level in his time on the sidelines, including collegiate stops at his alma mater, Loyola, Denver, Princeton, Towson, Navy and Butler, as well as professionally for the Denver Outlaws and Florida Launch.
There’s a first for everything, though, and for the first time, Ross will be a part of the Team USA U19 coaching staff for the 2020 Federation of International Lacrosse Men’s U19 World Championship in Limerick, Ireland.
“I’ve never done anything like this before,” Ross said. “I’m excited to do it for the experience, for the chance to work with the best and to represent our country. It’s not just an awesome opportunity for myself, but for the sport itself as we help to grow the game. I always talk to my players at Oxbridge Academy (where Ross is the head varsity coach) about playing for the name on the front of the jersey and not the one on the back, and what better name can you have on the front of your jersey than USA?”
Ross is a part of a loaded coaching staff guided by Ohio State head coach Nick Myers, who guided USA to a gold medal in the 2016 tournament. The staff also includes Lafayette head coach Pat Myers and Yale assistant coach Andrew Stimmel, as well as assistant manager Tony Resch – who was an assistant on the U.S. men’s senior team that won the gold medal last summer in Israel – equipment manager Brett Emerine and videographer Ryan Davis. It’s an incredible staff, and for Ross, it’s an honor to just be on there.
“I don’t know my role yet, but put me wherever you want and I’ll go help out however I can,” Ross said. “I’ve worked with Coach (Nick) Myers before. He was my assistant at Butler before he went to Ohio State, and you’ve got to work with people that you trust. We have to make some tough decisions, and we want everyone on the same page and doing it for the right reasons. It’s going to be unbelievably hard to get the list down to 100 players, then again from 100 to 50 to 30 and then the final travel roster. It’s going to be very challenging, but I’m looking forward to it.”
It’ll be even sweeter if he comes home with gold.
